UK: JOHNNY MARR NAMED RECORD STORE LEGEND 2025(图1)

MEG artist and songwriter Johnny Marr has been announced by the Record Store Day teams in the UK and US as their Record Store Legend 2025.

This honor celebrates Marr's enduring influence on music and his unwavering support for independent record stores worldwide, as well as the love and admiration for Marr and his music that comes from record stores themselves. He is the second ever recipient of this highly prestigious award and follows in the footsteps of inaugural recipient, Elton John in 2017.

To mark the occasion, a plaque has been mounted in Piccadilly Records in Manchester, Johnny’s favorite record shop. He is also releasing a brand-new live album, Look Out Live, available exclusively from indie record shops on Record Store Day.

Hear Johnny talk about the honor and why record stores are so important here.

Record Store Day has been running for nearly two decades and is celebrated at independently owned brick-and-mortar record stores around the world, including the US, UK, Canada, Ireland, Mexico, Europe, Japan, and Australia.
